It was a crisp, beautiful Sunday in November 2014. I was coming into the house from the grocery store. On the floor were my golf shoes and a note that read: “I’ve come inside to warm up in case you want to use me today. Forecast is for high of 55 degrees and mostly sunny.”
A big smile came over my face. You see, Chris, my husband, is an avid golfer and I was a very reluctant one. My heart wasn’t in it.
In that moment, I realized how important it was to Chris that I play golf. So, in service of spending time with my husband, I decided to shift my mindset—to stop resisting, adopt a better attitude and invest in getting better at golf. I needed to be intentional about it.
Fast forward a few years. I’ve gone from reluctant to avid golfer. I enjoy it—and, I’m getting better.
So, if you’re looking to make change in your life, shift your mindset and be intentional toward your goals.
